Founded by front woman Laura Hildebrand in 2011, Rockbox set out to shake up the Winnipeg scene by providing a raw, no holds barred style, delivering aggressive rock music rounded out by country favourites’ and current pop hits. Almost two years and several member changes later, Rockbox has found their stride and has been delivering party hits all over Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario. Guitarist Ron Friesen and drummer Tim Friesen bring a playing style unique to brothers who grew up playing together, and bassist Mike McComb solidly rounds out the rhythm section and backing vocals. Backing up Laura’s diverse vocal style, from clean country style vocals to the rawness of today’s current rock, to the heights of current pop singers, no style is off-limits for Rockbox, and they have confidently kicked up the party wherever they have performed. Playing everything from the Eurhythmics, to Led Zeppelin, to Gretchen Wilson, Buckcherry and Motley Crue, Rockbox has something for everyone and will leave crowds wanting more.
