North 49 2020

Biography
Formed in Winnipeg in March 2018, North 49 has been turning heads ever since. Their
original performances under the name Backwoods gathered attention at several University of Manitoba Faculty of Agriculture social events including “Destination Unknown” and “Mock Wedding” in addition to popular Winnipeg venues such as the Pyramid Cabaret.
Following a name change and rebranding in early 2019 and a successful run of shows
that summer, the eternally danceable drum and bass grooves of Josh Ayers and Bryn Herperger, the searing guitar duo of Rylan Knaggs and Thomas Cram, and the captivating vocals of Kevin Martin have solidified North 49’s reputation as one of the premier party bands on the Winnipeg music scene.
You can find them delivering a fiery mix of Country, Rock, Blues, and Pop tunes at The
Nob in St. Norbert every Thursday night for the 2019/20 academic year, and they remain
hireable for your private events, weddings, and parties.
